Wales and Northern Ireland will meet on Saturday in a Euro 2016 knockout stage match.

Neither country was expected to fare extraordinarily well at the competition, but the winner of this round of 16 match could be well–positioned to make a deep run in the tournament. Saturday’s victor will advance to play either Belgium or Hungary.

Wales reached the knockout stage after winning Group B. Gareth Bale led the team to wins over Slovakia and Russia, though Wales lost 2–1 to England.

Northern Ireland qualified for the knockout stage after finishing third in Group C. After losing their opener to Poland, Northern Ireland rebounded with a 2–0 win over Ukraine followed by a narrow 1–0 defeat to Germany.
