Germany and Slovakia will meet in a Euro 2016 round of 16 match on Sunday. 

Germany won Group C with seven points, finishing ahead of Poland on goal difference. Joachim Low’s side beat Ukraine to open its campaign before playing Poland to a scoreless draw. The World Cup champions sealed the top spot in the group with a 1–0 victory over Northern Ireland. 

Slovakia reached the knockout stage after finishing third in Group B. The team’s 2–1 victory over Russia in its second group match proved critical after dropping its opening match 2–1 to Wales. Slovakia advanced after a scoreless draw with England in its final group stage game. 

Sunday’s match will be played in Lille. The winner will face either Italy or Spain.
