Newly-promoted Premier League side Middlesbrough has bolstered its attacking corps by signing striker Alvaro Negredo on a one-year loan from La Liga side Valencia, the club announced on Wednesday.

Negredo scored five times in 25 appearances with Valencia last season, and has scored 112 total goals in La Liga in 264 appearances between Valencia, Sevilla, Almeria, and Rayo Vallecano. 

Negredo has previous experience in the Premier League, having joined Manchester City from Sevilla in 2013. He scored 23 times in 49 appearances for Man City before moving to Valencia in 2014. He was also part of Spain's Euro 2012-winning squad.
