2008 Team Scouting Reports

Can this outfit repeat one of the best campaigns -- all three drivers made the Chase -- in its storied history? There are concerns. Jeff Burton and Kevin Harvick started strong in 2007 only to level off in the summer. Harvick had some bad luck, blowing tires in three Chase races, but the real issue was that both cars were a tick slow. Burton and Harvick led only 350 laps combined, 37 fewer than the less experienced Clint Bowyer. Off-season testing has not been encouraging. "We're not showing enough speed to win by brute force," says Burton. "We're going to have to be smart, and we're going to have to have the race go our way."
