EISENACH, Germany (AP) -- The Wartburg Rally has been called off following the death of a female driver in a crash Saturday night.

Organizers say on the event's website that Ina Schaarschmidt died at the scene from injuries sustained when Janina Depping's Mitsubishi Evo 9 crashed off the track during the fifth stage. Schaarschmidt was 29.

Depping was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. No further details on her condition were immediately available.
