Ryan Dalziel takes Brickyard Grand Prix pole

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Defending race winner Ryan Dalziel earned his first IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship pole position of the season Thursday in qualifying for Friday's Brickyard Grand Prix.

Dalziel had a fast lap of 113.145 mph around the 2.439-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in the No. 1 Honda ARX-03b Prototype. He led a 1-2 sweep for the Extreme Speed Motorsports team, with Johannes van Overbeek qualifying second at 112.744 in the No. 2 Honda Prototype.

Giancarlo Fisichella, who competed in every Formula One race held at Indianapolis, took the GT Le Mans class pole in the No. 62 Ferrari with a lap at 106.587.

Colin Braun qualified first in the Prototype Challenge class at 109.963 in the No. 54 ORECA/Chevrolet, and Dane Cameron took the GT Daytona class pole at 102.029 in the No. 94 BMW.
