Mexican F1 driver Sergio Perez announced on Twitter that he will drop sunglasses brand Hawkers as a sponsor regarding a tweet about President-elect Donald Trump.

Hawkers promoted a pair of sunglasses for customers in Mexico to cover their “crying eyes tomorrow when you are building the wall.”

Perez responded on Twitter by writing that it was a really bad comment and “Today I will end my relationship with Hawkers. I will never let anyone make fun of my country.”

Doc Rivers on Donald Trump: 'Give him a chance'

Trump was elected president by defeating Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Tuesday night's election. Trump has vowed to end the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) agreement with Mexico and Canada. His immigration plan includes a controversial wall along the Mexican border that he says Mexico would pay for.

Trump also kicked off his campaign in June 2015 by bashing Mexican immigrants: "They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
