Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LaGarrette Blount will not play this weekend against the Chicago Bears in London, reports the Associated Press.
Blount’s absence marks the second straight week the 24-year-old has sat out for Tampa Bay. The former Oregon standout sprained his left knee in a 48-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. The Buccaneers have a bye next week, meaning Blount’s return to the field will likely come Nov. 6 in New Orleans.
In five games played this season Blount has rushed for 328 yards on 77 carries, and has recorded a team high three rushing touchdowns. Last season the undrafted free-agent recorded 1007 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground in his rookie season. Backup running backs Earnest Graham and Kregg Lumpkin will fill in for Blount this week.
