According to a report from Kevin Baxter in the L.A. Times, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim plan to interview former New York Mets and Montreal Expos general manager Omar Minaya for their vacant GM position.

Per Baxter, the Angels would neither confirm nor deny such interest. Minaya was GM with the Mets from 2005 to 2010.  His tenure began strongly, with the Mets coming just short of the World Series in 2006, but the team failed to make the playoffs in any of his final four years, and he was relieved of his responsibilities following the 2010 season.
