An MRI conducted this morning found that Washington Redskins running back Tim Hightower has a torn ACL. He will miss the remainder of the season. The 25-year-old left Sunday’s loss at Carolina with a knee injury after carrying much of the load for the Redskins in the first half.

Hightower responded to his fans via Twitter after hearing the news:

With the inexperienced John Beck starting at quarterback for the Washington, the team had been planning to rely on a strong running game. Now veteran running back Ryan Torain and rookie Roy Helu will look to carry some of the load.
