If Boise State's football program makes a much-rumored move to the Big East Conference, the rest of their sports could join the Big West, according to a report from Andy Katz of

Boise State is currently part of the Mountain West Conference, but conference commissioner Craig Thompson will not allow the school to keep their non-football sports in-conference should tehe football team depart. According to Katz, Boise State interim athletic director Curt Apsey contacted Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell to explore this possibility, although Katz's sources imply that  it is far from a done deal -- the Big West will be a 10-team league when Hawaii's non-football teams joint in 2012-13, and Katz's sources say the conference would rather expand to 12 or 14 teams than to 11.
