Sullinger The Sole Unanimous Pick In AP Preseason All-America Team

The Associated Press’ preseason All-America team has been selected and Ohio State sophomore Jared Sullinger is the sole unanimous pick of the media panel.

After a disappointing elimination in last year's Sweet 16, the 6-9 power forward made it clear to Buckeyes coach Thad Matta that he would bypass the NBA draft.

“He knew what he was going to do from the time he got to Ohio State in the summer,” Matta told the Associated Press.  “When he told me he was coming back, I said, ‘Are you sure? Let’s talk about this.’ I want what’s best for our players.  He said, ‘No, there’s no need to do it, I’m coming back.’”

Ohio State goes into the season ranked No. 3 overall in the AP Preseason Top 25.

The other members of the All-America team include University of Wisconsin senior Jordan Taylor and three sophomores: Harrison Barnes of North Carolina, University of Kentucky’s Terrence Jones and University of Connecticut’s Jeremy Lamb.
