Legendary NFL running back Barry Sanders apparently was jealous of all the fun the locked-out NBA stars are having playing flag football. The former Lions’ superstar took to Twitter today to see if he could get in on the action.

“@KDTrey5 – How do I get on that flag football squad for the game with @kingjames? I am probably too old, so maybe just 3rd downs…LOL,” Sanders tweeted.

Oklahoma City Thunder star forward Kevin Durant made headlines Monday when he was able to crash a Oklahoma State intramural flag football game after chatting with fans on Twitter. Following the game, Miami Heat star LeBron James tweeted that he would challenge Durant’s team to his own flag football team from Akron, Ohio.
