Giants Catcher Buster Posey Begins Running After Devastating Ankle Injury
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey has begun running in his rehabilitation from a devastating ankle injury he suffered during the season, the team reports from its official Twitter account.
The team also posted a video of the fan favorite running around the infield.
Posey suffered the blow in the 12th inning of a 7-6 loss to the Florida Marlins this summer. Marlins outfielder Scott Cousins ran into the former Rookie of the Year at the plate following a sacrifice fly by Emilio Bonafacio. Posey dropped the ball, Cousins scored the go ahead run, and the Giants catcher was left rolling on the ground in pain. The 24-year-old broke his fibula and tore ligaments in his left ankle on the play.
