McCoy, Quinn, And Avril Claim NFC Weekly Honors

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn, and Detroit Lions defensive end Cliff Avril have been named the NFC players of the week, according to NBC Sports.

Quinn was awarded the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award after helping the St. Louis Rams shock the heavily favored New Orleans Saints 31-21 on Sunday. The 21-year-old helped block a Saints punt, which set up a Rams touchdown. So far this season the rookie has collected six tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.

Avril was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after the 25-year-old  recorded two sacks and forced two fumbles in the Lions’ 45-10 rout of the Denver Broncos. The former third round pick is in his fourth year in the league. Through eight games this season he has recorded 17 tackles, five sacks, and three forced fumbles.
