Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk was fined $5000 by the league for removing his microphone during a game, but that fine has been overturned, according to the Associated Press. Birk's agent confirmed the report.

A new rule under the collective bargaining agreement states that all centers must wear a microphone during games, but Birk removed his because he felt it was irritating his neck. Birk was not aware that he was disallowed from removing the microphone, even if it were uncomfortable.
