Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, according to a tweet from the team’s official Twitter account.
The 29-year-old quarterback lead his team to victory over the New England Patriots 25-17 on Sunday, helping the Steelers improve to 6-2 on the year. Roethlisberger completed 36 passes in the game for a total of 365 yards and two touchdowns against the stingy New England defense. Through eight games this year the former first round pick has posted a 95.7 quarterback rating and has thrown for 2,302 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He is attempting to get his team back to the Super Bowl, where the Steelers fell to the Green Bay Packers last season.
