Philadelphia Phillies assistant general manager Scott Proefrock will interview for the Baltimore Orioles’ general manager vacancy, according to a tweet from FOX’s Ken Rosenthal. Proefrock worked for the Orioles from 2006-08 as the director of baseball administration.

Proefrock was hired by the Phillies in November of 2008 and has worked for the Orioles, Rays, Pirates and Braves in his career. The Orioles have had a difficult time replacing Andy McPhail, who resigned as president of baseball operations on October 8. Two candidates – Jerry Dipoto and Tony LaCava – have gone elsewhere. Dipoto was named the new general manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and LaCava decided to remain in Toronto as assistant general manager.
