Troy Polamalu Not Fined For Hit On Wes Welker

Pittsburgh Steelers' safety Troy Polamalu was not fined for a high tackle on New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker last week, according to the Boston Herald. Welker missed practice time this week with an injured neck as a result of the hit.

The NFL has made an effort to eliminate dangerous plays against defenseless receivers this season, but Polamalu's hit passed without incident. Three other players were fined in the game, however, according to the paper: Steelers' safety Ryan Clark for a hit on Rob Gronkowski; New England safety Patrick Chung for a facemask and Patriots running back Kevin Faulk for an illegal chop block.
