Surfer Garrett McNamara made history today by surfing the largest wave ever. The 44-year-old self described explorer road a 90 foot wave today in Portugal.

McNamara was towed into what is known as a rogue wave at the North Canyon in Portugal. Two other surfers joining him, Andrew Cotton and Al Mennie, both reportedly surfed waves as large as 60 feet as well.
