Tennessee Titans wide receiver Marc Mariani has received AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors from the NFL, the team’s official website reports.

Mariani returned a 79 yard punt for a touchdown in Tennessee’s 30-3 blowout win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

This is Mariani’s second Special Teams Player of the Week recognition. He last earned the honor with a 87 yard punt return for a touchdown against the Washington Redskins last season.

Mariani now holds the franchise record for the most total return yards in special teams with 1,859 yards. The 24-year-old seventh-round draft pick was named to the Pro Bowl as a “return specialist” in 2010, his rookie season.
