The University of Arizona will hire former Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez as their next football head coach, according to Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports.

Rodriguez, 48, was fired by Michigan after three seasons and a 15-22 record.

Before he was at Michigan, Rodriguez was head coach at West Virginia, his alma mater. He compiled a 60-26 record with the Mountaineers. According to Feldman, Rodriguez is expected to bring several of his assistants from Michigan and West Virginia.

Arizona is currently 3-8 and fired coach Mike Stoops after he started the season 1-5. In his eight seasons at Arizona, he was 41-50 with one bowl win (2008 Las Vegas Bowl). Update: Arizona has confirmed the report via athletic director Greg Byrne's Twitter account.
