The Big East and Brigham Young University have ended negotiations that would have brought BYU into a 12-team Big East, according to a source cited in an Associated Press report.

According to the report, the sides were unable to work out a deal regarding BYU's home television rights, and as a result BYU will not be joining the Big East. BYU is currently an independent FBS school, alongside Notre Dame, Army, and Navy.
