The Boston Red Sox will announce Thursday that Bobby Valentine will become the team's next manager, the organization announced Wednesday. There will be a Fenway Park press conference tomorrow evening.

"Having a great baseball team with a chance of winning the ultimate title is what people dream about, and I'm one of those who dream about those things," Valentine told ESPN Wednesday.

The Red Sox have been in flux since former general manager Theo Epstein left for the same post with the Chicago Cubs. Former manager Terry Francona was fired, and a few players made news by admitting to misbehaving in the clubhouse during games. ESPN's Buster Olney asked Valentine to comment on the report that some players were upset that he had emerged as the front-runner for the position, but Valentine declined comment.
