First-year University of Maryland head coach Randy Edsall appears to be safe in his position despite the team's 2-10 record, based on what athletic director Kevin Anderson told Jeff Barker of The Baltimore Sun.

"There's no question in my mind I got the right guy here," Anderson said, according to Barker.

Nevertheless, Anderson tells Barker that he will be meeting with Edsall Saturday night for a "top to bottom" review of the program, which appeared to regress following the dismissal of former head coach Ralph Friedgen. Edsall came to Maryland from Connecticut with a reputation as a disciplinarian -- a reputation that has been upheld, rubbing some players wrong (players reportedly refer to  Gossett Team House as Gossett State Penitentiary) and contributing to at least one player's decision to depart the program altogether.
