First-year University of Maryland head coach Randy Edsall appears to be safe in his position despite the team's 2-10 record, based on what athletic director Kevin Anderson told Jeff Barker of The Baltimore Sun.
"There's no question in my mind I got the right guy here," Anderson said, according to Barker.
Nevertheless, Anderson tells Barker that he will be meeting with Edsall Saturday night for a "top to bottom" review of the program, which appeared to regress following the dismissal of former head coach Ralph Friedgen.
Edsall came to Maryland from Connecticut with a reputation as a disciplinarian -- a reputation that has been upheld, rubbing some players wrong (players reportedly refer to Gossett Team House as Gossett State Penitentiary
) and contributing to at least one player's decision to depart the program altogether
