Pedro Martinez to Officially Retire

Pedro Martinez will soon announce his official retirement, according to MLB.com. Martinez hasn't pitched since 2009, when he made nine starts for the Philadelphia Phillies.

According to the report, Martinez said that he still would like to play, but he is enjoying his home life too much.

Martinez, 40, spent 18 years in the majors, playing for the Dodgers, Expos, Red Sox, Mets, and Phillies. He finished with a career record of 219-100, including winning three Cy Young Awards in the span of four years.
