The New England Patriots announced Saturday that wide receiver Taylor Price has been released. Offensive lineman Nick McDonald has been promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster in Price's place.

McDonald was released by the Green Bay Packers in September, and the Patriots added him to their practice squad shortly thereafter.

Price, 24, was a 3rd round draft pick out of Ohio University in 2010, and he appeared in one game last season. He had three catches for 41 yards against the Miami Dolphins in the 2010 season finale. Price has appeared in two games this season but has not recorded a statistic.
