Freeze served as the Arkansas State head coach this season, posting a 10-2 record, helping the Red Wolves earn a bid to the GoDaddy.com Bowl. In 2010 Freeze served as the team’s offensive coordinator, prior to that he spent two years as the head coach of Lambuth, leading the squad to a combined 20-5 record.

Freeze is best known by some for his depiction in the major motion picture, “The Blind Side.” In early November, Houston Nutt was relieved of his duties as the Rebels head football coach. The former coach led the squad to a 4-8 record in 2010 and a 2-10 mark to this season, leading to the team’s unsurprising decision to part ways with Nutt.
