Marlins Have A Deal In Place With Jose Reyes For $106 Million Over 6 Years
Once the Miami Marlins moved their offer to free agent infielder Jose Reyes past $100 million over 6 years, things escalated quickly. Now, according to a series of tweets from Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, there is a deal officially in place.
According to Rosenthal's sources, the deal is for 6 years and $106 million dollars, pending a physical, and does not include a no-trade clause.
SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that, as expected, the plan is for Hanley Ramirez to move to third base to open the way for Reyes to play shortstop.
