Montreal Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday, general manager Pierre Gauthier announced. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery in Florida.
Markov’s recovery time is estimated to be four to six weeks, according to Gauthier.
Markov, 32, only played in seven games this season before being placed on injured reserve on Sep. 19 with right knee swelling. He has spent his entire career with Montreal, scoring 81 goals and 285 assists (366 points) in 623 career games.
