Report: Clippers Offer DeAndre Jordan 5-Year, $40 Million Deal

The Los Angeles Clippers have offered center DeAndre Jordan a five-year, $40 million contract, according to a tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Jordan is a restricted free-agent, meaning that any team may submit an offer sheet to the 23-year-old, but the Clippers will have the option to match it. The 6’11” big man was originally drafted by the Clippers in the second round of the 2008 NBA Draft, and has seen his playing time increase each year over the past three seasons for the Clippers.

Last year in 80 games Jordan averaged 7.1 points and 7.2 rebounds in 25.6 minutes per game for Los Angeles. In 2010-11 he posted career highs in points, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, rebounds, blocks, and points.
