The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Dougie Hamilton to an entry-level contract, the team announced Thursday.

Hamilton, 18, is one of the top scorers in the Ontario Hockey League, and he was tops in several offensive categories for a defenseman. He was also one of 41 players selected to tryout for Team Canada's final roster for the World Junior Tournament, which commences at the end of the month. The Bruins selected Hamilton in the 9th round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
