Celtics Acquire Brandon Bass from Magic, Lose Glen Davis, Von Wafer

The Boston Celtics will send forward Glen Davis and guard Von Wafer to the Orlando Magic in exchange for forward Brandon Bass, the Magic announced Monday.

Davis saw action in 78 games a season ago, making 13 starts and averaging 11.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Wafer appeared more sparingly, starting only two games and averaging just 3.2 points in less than 10 minutes a game.

“Glen (Davis) is a versatile player that adds size to our frontcourt,” Orlando president of basketball operations and general manager Otis Smith said. “He has a solid mid-range jumper and is a strong team defensive player. Von (Wafer) brings athleticism and aggressiveness on the offensive end. We’re excited to add both to our team and we wish Brandon all the best.”
