Carmelo Anthony Returns To Knicks Practice After Injuring Knee Monday

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony returned to practice today after hyperextending his knee on Monday, according to ESPN.com. Anthony missed just one practice due to the injury.

"I feel much better," Anthony told ESPN Wednesday. "I think yesterday the treatment that I got, the workout that I did, just resting a little bit, really helped out. I feel good."

The four-time All-Star suffered the injury when he collided with rookie Ian Shumpert during a full court scrimmage. Anthony told reporters on the scene that he would “absolutely” be available for the Knicks first preseason game this weekend against the New Jersey Nets.

Anthony has not played a full 82 game season since his rookie year.

The eight-year veteran averaged 25.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game between the Knicks and the Denver Nuggets last season.
