The Red Sox have signed infielder Nick Punto to a two-year contract, according to a team press release. Punto, 34, hit .278 with one home run and 20 RBIs last season for the St. Louis Cardinals. He appeared at second base, shortstop and third base, posting a .984 fielding percentage (3 errors). The 11-year veteran has played for Philadelphia, Minnesota and St. Louis in his career and has a .249 career average.
