It was reported yesterday that 64-year-old Phillips would be taking a medical leave of absence from the team. He is expected to return to the club sometime this season. Under Phillips the Texans defense has allowed the fewest amount of yards per game in the NFL this season. The club has also allowed the fourth fewest points against in the league. Despite the team’s offensive injuries, the Texans have posted a 10-3 record, which ranks them atop the AFC South.
