Bismack Biyombo is set to join the Charlotte Bobcats after agreeing to pay a buyout clause to be released from his contract with his Spanish team, NBA.com reports.
Biyombo initially sought to avoid paying the $1.5 million buyout fee, but his civil suit against Fuenlabrada was dismissed last week. Biyombo had two years remaining on his contract with the Spanish team.
Biyombo has been doing individual drills in Charlotte with the Bobcats organization since the NBA lockout ended. The 19-year-old Congo native was drafted seventh overall in this year’s NBA draft.
