Report: Nationals Land Gio Gonzalez For Four Prospects

According to a tweet from Keith Law of ESPN.com the Washington Nationals have acquired left-handed starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez.

Gonzalez, 26, has collected 15-or-more wins in two consecutive seasons with the Athletics while posting an ERA of 3.23 or lower each season. The young hurler was one of the most desired trade pieces in baseball this winter.

In return for Gonzalez the Nationals will reportedly give up A.J. Cole, Derek Norris, Brad Peacock, and Tom Milone, according to Law.

Cole and Peacock have been listed by many experts as the Nationals top two pitching prospects. Norris has, in the past, been named as Washington's top hitting prospect. However a combination of injuries and the acquisition of Bryce Harper and Wilson Ramos has made him less important to the team's future.

Peacock and Milone represent Washington's two most major league ready starting pitching prospects.
