Report: Ben Roethlisberger To Sit This Weekend For The Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially named Charlie Batch as their starter for this weekend’s game against the St. Louis Rams, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Roethlisberger has been battling ankle and thumb injuries over the past several weeks. He did start on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers, a decision that was deemed questionable by many.

The 29-year-old threw for 330 yards and three interceptions in the 20-3 Steelers’ loss.

“I’ve said many times I want to go and I’ll try and be … ready to go,” Roethlisberger told earlier this week.

Batch started two games for the Steelers in 2010 as a result of Roethlisberger’s suspension. In total, he threw for 352 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions.
