Devaney’s had served as the general manager for the Rams since late 2008. His first major hire, head coach Steve Spagnuolo, was also fired by the Rams earlier this morning.

Under Devaney’s rule, the Rams posted a 10-38 record in three seasons. In 2010 the Rams posted a 7-9 record and just narrowly missed the playoffs in a weak NFC West division. In both 2009 and 2011 the Rams went just 2-14. The 56-year-old has also served in the front offices of the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, and Washington Redskins.
