Khan: Blaine Gabbert Is Jacksonville's Franchise Quarterback

In an appearance on “Jaguars This Week,” new Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan reaffirmed that Blaine Gabbert is the team’s franchise quarterback.

"I think he [Gabbert] is going to be a great quarterback,” Khan said, according to The Florida Times-Union. “ I think he is our franchise quarterback. I think he needs development. We want to develop him. We want to give him tools. A dedicated coach. And I think he's going to be great."

In his first season under center, Gabbert threw for 2,214 yards, 12 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 14 games as the starter for the Jaguars. Jacksonville had selected him No. 10 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
