Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will not play in the club’s opening playoff game against the Denver Broncos, according to ProFootballTalk.

The center has reportedly suffered a setback with an ankle injury during practice this week. The injury had forced him to miss two out of the final three games of the season for Pittsburgh. Doug Legursky will likely move to center to fill in for Pouncy, ProFootballTalk reports.

Pouncey, 22, wasnamed to the Pro Bowl in 2010 and 2011, and was selected as an All Pro in 2010. The Steelers have a myriad of injuries entering the playoffs. Most notably they will be without starting running back Rashard Mendenhall, who has a season-ending knee injury, and safety Ryan Clark will miss the game due to a blood disorder. Starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to play this weekend, however he has been playing through an ankle injury for the past several weeks.
