Oklahoma State University and head football coach Mike Gundy have agreed to an eight-year contract extension that would go through 2019, according to Berry Tramel of The Oklahoman.
Financial details of the new extension have not been confirmed yet, but, according to Tramel, Gundy’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, was asking for a salary in the $4 million range. According to Tramel, Gundy’s current contract runs through 2015 and pays him approximately $2.1 million a year. Gundy, 44, has been the head coach at Oklahoma State since 2005. He has a career 59-30 record with the Cowboys, but has gone a combined 23-3 the last two seasons and Gundy’s team won the Fiesta Bowl on Monday over Stanford.
