Former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley is nearing a deal with his former team, the Arizona Cardinals, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com.
La Canfora reports a deal could be completed in the next week.
Haley, 44, spent two seasons as the Cardinals’ offensive coordinator (2007-2008) before becoming the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009. He was fired by the Chiefs midway through the 2011 season with a 5-8 record.
His overall head coaching record in Kansas City was 19-26; he won the AFC West in 2010 with a 10-6 record, but lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Wild Card game. The current offensive coordinator for the Cardinals is Mike Miller.
