New York Giants rookie Prince Amukamara could start at cornerback this coming weekend against the heavily favored Green Bay Packers, according to the New York Post.

Amukamara filled in for starter Aaron Ross when Ross went down with a concussion in the third quarter of a 24-2 NFC Wild Card win over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday afternoon. If Ross is ruled unavailable next weekend against the Packers, the rookie, who has seen limited playing time this season, could be tapped to guard against one of the best passing offenses in the game.

“I know for a fact now I’m gonna be ready,” Amukamara said, “because I’ve been just keeping that consistency.” Amukamara was drafted No. 19 overall by the Giants in the 2011 NFL draft, however a foot injury during the preseason kept him out of the club’s lineup for the first 10 weeks of the season.
