The Tampa Bay Rays have signed outfielder/first baseman Luke Scott to a one-year deal, according to the Baltimore Sun.

It was reported earlier today that the Rays were interested in adding Scott because of his power batt and his versatility. Over the past five years the 33-year-old has played at left field, right field, first base, and designated hitter for the Baltimore Orioles. Scott had season ending shoulder surgery in July which left him hitting just .220/.301/.402 with nine home runs in 64 contests on the year.  Those numbers fell well short of his career 162-game averages of .264/.349/.494 with 26 home runs and 79 RBI.
