Over the weekend, it was reported that former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley was on the verge of returning to his old team, the Arizona Cardinals. Now, Haley's future appears to be in doubt, as the New York Jets have emerged as a possibility for his next coaching gig.
The 44-year-old Haley will meet tomorrow with Jets officials at the team's Florham Park facility about a possible position on Rex Ryan's coaching staff, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
This news comes on the heels of the announcement earlier today that former Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano would be the Jets' next offensive coordinator. A position on Sparano's staff makes perfect sense for Haley, as the two go way back. Both men are from the Bill Parcells coaching tree, as they worked together with the Cowboys between 2004 and '06.
Haley has worked for the Jets before -- he was with the team for six seasons between 1995 and 2000, first as a scout and then as an assistant wide receivers coach.
