Pena, a free-agent, hit .225/.357/.463 with 28 home runs and 80 RBI in his lone season with the Chicago Cubs this year. Over the course of his 11-year career he has averaged 34 home runs and 96 RBI per campaign. The 2009 All-Star made $9.9 million in a one-year deal with Chicago last season, however it is unclear how much interest there is in the 33-year-old’s services this year. The Tampa Bay Rays had previously been rumored to be in the mix for Pena,  however their most recent signing of Luke Scott indicates that they have found the left-handed bat they were looking for.
