The New York Knicks are expected to target Steve Nash following this season to sure up the team’s point guard situation, according to the New York Post.

Nash had previously played with Knicks power forward Amar’e Stoudemire when the two were both members of the Phoenix Suns. During their time there, current Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni was the Suns head coach.

“You’ve got a guy by the name of Steve Nash who’s orchestrating the offense,’’ Stoudemire told the Post about the Knicks' Wednesday night opponent, the Suns. “Things seem to run a little smoother when he’s got control of the ball. But we’ll get there.’’
New York is off to a 6-7 start this season. The club had high expectations entering 2011-12 after the acquiring Carmelo Anthony mid-way through last season, and Tyson Chandler this winter.
