The St. Louis Rams and the New England Patriots have been selected by the NFL to play in London next season as part of the NFL’s international series, according to the Patriots official Twitter account. St. Louis is expected to serve as the home team.
This will mark the seventh consecutive year the NFL has selected one game to be played outside the United States, and it will be the sixth consecutive year that game has been played in the United Kingdom. The first game of the series was played in Mexico City in 2005.
The Patriots selection for this game marks the second time they’ve participated in the international series. They last played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the UK in 2009.
For St. Louis, it will be the first time they have participated in an international game, however they have now committed to play
in the U.K. in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
